Bio |
First of all, i am a passionate for photography. Between the images i see and the ones i shoot, i breathe and live photography 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The photographic image came into my life at the age of 17 and has never left. At the beginning of the Social Communication degree at the Catholic University of Brasilia, I began to understand the power of the image, and gradually discovering my own eyes as a photographer.
Since then, I had the opportunity to work for major newspapers in Brazil as well as Folha de São Paulo and Estado de São Paulo, as a freelancer in Brasilia, and also collaborates with several photojournalism agencies. Over time, I have been specializing in coverage for political and sports issues but also dedicating myself to the coverage of protests and social conflicts.
Today, I am a staff member of the official news agency of the Federal District government as a photographer and assistant editor, in addition to also acting as freelancer for the photojournalism agency Agif.
The desire to understand in a deeper way the events that I shoot is what moves me. Deeper into the root of the facts, their precedents and their causes to learn how to report with more quality the events in which I was inserted as a photo reporter.
Now i can say photography for me is much more than a profession, it is a way of living trying to go beyond the balance between light and dark and its frames. It is the incessant search for empathy and for having the ability to cross my reality with the reality of who or what i capture through my lens, to be closer to the subject, to be closer to the people and especially closer to the facts.
